Best Apps for UGC Creators in 2026, by Job
Oct 13, 2026 · 7 min read
- Editing: CapCut or Instagram's Edits, both free to start.
- Hooks: start with a free hook generator, then use an AI assistant for scripts.
- Work: SideShift is our top pick. Whop Content Rewards pays per 1,000 views.
- Admin: Wave's free plan for invoices, and a $9-a-year Carrd site for your portfolio.
The best apps for UGC creators in 2026 cover six jobs: editing, hooks and scripts, scheduling and posting, finding work, invoicing and contracts, and a portfolio. You can start all six for $0: CapCut or Edits to edit, the built-in schedulers to post, SideShift for deals, Wave for invoices, and Carrd or Notion for a portfolio. Pay only where a job eats your hours.
Prices below are US prices from each company’s own site or App Store listing, checked in October 2026.
- 1 Editing CapCut or Instagram's Edits. Both free to download.
- 2 Hooks and scripts A hook generator, an AI assistant and TikTok's ad library.
- 3 Scheduling and posting Built-in schedulers first, then Buffer or Postiz.
- 4 Finding work SideShift, our top pick, and Whop Content Rewards.
- 5 Invoicing and contracts Wave for free invoices, Bonsai for contracts too.
- 6 Portfolio Carrd, Notion or Canva. Link your videos, don’t upload them.
Editing
CapCut
CapCut is free to download and covers a full edit on your phone: trims, speed, keyframes, auto captions, text-to-speech and background removal (App Store). Some features sit behind a subscription. The US App Store listing shows plans from $7.99 to $19.99 a month, plus an $89.99 yearly option.
Best for: fine control on a phone, plus templates and caption styles for the on-screen hook.
Edits
Edits is Instagram’s own editor, which it describes as “a free video editor” (App Store). It exports “in 4K with no watermark” to any platform, generates captions automatically, cleans up audio, and has green screen and cutout tools. It also shows a live insights dashboard for your Reels.
Best for: clean, watermark-free exports you can post anywhere, TikTok included.
For the reaction + app demo + hook format, either app is enough. Save one project as a template and swap the clips and the hook for each video.
Hooks and scripts
Hooks drive views, and on CPM deals views drive pay. Write them in batches, not one at a time.
- A free hook generator gives you a starting list of hook lines to test.
- ChatGPT has a free tier. The US App Store lists ChatGPT Go at $8 a month and Plus at $19.99 (App Store).
- Claude is free to start. Pro costs $20 a month, or $17 a month billed annually (Claude pricing).
- TikTok Creative Center shows high-performing ads on TikTok, with filters for region, objective, ad format and language. Watch the first seconds of the top ads in your client’s category.
With an AI assistant, paste your ten best hooks and ask for thirty more in the same voice and length. Most will be weak. Keep the five that sound like you.
Scheduling and posting
Start with the schedulers built into each platform. They’re free and post natively.
- TikTok has a video scheduler on its web upload page (TikTok for Business).
- Meta Business Suite is a free app that lets you “create, schedule, and manage posts and stories” for a Facebook Page and an Instagram account (App Store).
- YouTube Studio lets you pick a date, time and time zone for a video to go live (YouTube Help).
The catch is that it’s three apps, every day, for every account. When you run several clients, one calendar helps:
- Buffer has a free plan for up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Essentials costs $5 a month per channel, billed yearly (Buffer pricing).
- Postiz connects 30+ platforms and starts at $29 a month for 5 channels, after a 7-day free trial (Postiz pricing).
Both post what you give them. You still edit every video first.
Finding work
SideShift (our top pick)
SideShift is where we’d start. Brands post campaigns, you apply, and brands can also invite you if your profile stands out. Its FAQ says many brands want creators to “build fresh accounts in the campaign’s niche”, which is the Canvas UGC model.
What it costs you: SideShift says it “charges brands, not creators”, apart from small fees on bank withdrawals. It handles contracts, tax forms and payouts, and it’s open to creators in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. On pay, it advertises $200 to $2,000 a month plus $1 to $4 per 1,000 views in bonuses. Treat that as a range, not a promise. The app also sells an optional SideShift Pro subscription with unlimited applications and early access to deals.
Whop Content Rewards
Content Rewards works the other way round. A brand sets a rate per 1,000 views and a budget, you post on your own accounts, and the brand approves or rejects each video. After approval, “Whop automatically pays the content creator based on the number of views they got” (Whop docs). Campaigns are either clipping or UGC. Its creator page says it keeps “a flat 10% of what you earn”, except on per-post and retainer campaigns with budgets of $5,000 or more.
More options and red flags: where to find Canvas UGC jobs.
Invoicing and contracts
- Wave has a free Starter plan with unlimited estimates and invoices. Card payments cost 2.9% + $0.60 each (3.4% + $0.60 for Amex). Pro is $19 a month and adds auto-imported bank transactions and late-payment reminders (Wave pricing).
- Bonsai puts contracts, proposals, invoices and payments in one place on its Essentials plan: $19 per user a month billed annually, or $25 billed monthly, after a 7-day free trial (Bonsai pricing).
- SideShift’s app lets you “send invoices directly to brands” and “manage contracts and payments” for deals you run there (App Store).
Whatever you use, get the basics in writing before you post: pay, volume, account ownership, usage rights and exclusivity. Our UGC contract template lists the clauses.
This is general information, not legal advice.
Portfolio
A UGC portfolio needs three things: your best videos, the niches you work in, and how to book you. Any of these will do:
- Carrd is free to start. Pro Lite costs $9 a year for 3 sites with video uploads and no Carrd branding, and Pro Standard costs $19 a year with custom domains (Carrd Pro).
- Notion is free and can publish a page to the web. On the free plan, uploads are capped at 5 MB per file (Notion pricing), so link to your videos instead of uploading them.
- Canva is free to start, and Canva Pro is listed from $14.99 a month or $119.99 a year in the US App Store (App Store). It’s handy for a one-page media kit or a rate card.

What a stack costs
Here are three example stacks built from the prices above. They’re examples, not recommendations for every creator, so swap in what you actually use.
Starting out
$0
per month
CapCut or Edits, the free hook generator, a free AI assistant, built-in schedulers, SideShift, Wave Starter and a free Carrd site.
+ Nothing to cancel
− Posting by hand in three apps
One or two clients
about $19
per month
CapCut Standard ($9.99), ChatGPT Go ($8) and Carrd Pro Lite ($9 a year). Everything else stays free.
+ Better edits, more AI help
− Still one upload at a time
Several clients
about $76
per month
CapCut Pro ($19.99), Claude Pro ($20), Buffer for 3 channels ($15, yearly), Bonsai Essentials ($19, yearly) and Carrd Pro Standard ($19 a year).
+ One calendar, contracts and invoices
− You still edit every video
Look at the minus line on the busiest stack. Past a few clients, the cost that grows isn’t the apps. It’s the hours you spend editing and posting each video.
When posting eats your week
If your videos follow the reaction + app demo + hook format, that daily edit is the same job every time. UGCPoster handles it: you upload your reaction clips and app demos once, and each run pairs a reaction with a demo, writes a fresh hook from your examples, renders the video, and posts it to TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, as drafts you approve or directly on a schedule. Plans start at $29 a month (pricing). It doesn’t find deals or film for you, so you’d still keep SideShift and your camera roll.
For the workflow behind daily volume, read how to post 3 times a day as a UGC creator. Then pick one job from the list above where you’re losing the most time and fix that one first.
