What is a UGC platform? How creators find deals

UGC platform: A UGC platform is a marketplace or app where brands post briefs for creator videos, creators apply and deliver, and payment runs through the platform.

A UGC platform is a marketplace where brands post briefs for creator videos and creators apply to make them. The platform handles matching, delivery and payment, so neither side has to find the other alone. For new creators, it’s often the quickest route to a first paid video.

How it works

  1. A brand posts a brief: product, format, number of videos and pay.
  2. Creators apply, usually with samples from their UGC portfolio.
  3. The brand picks creators, who film and submit.
  4. The brand approves the videos, and the platform releases payment.

Some platforms pay a flat fee per video. Others add view bonuses, or pay on views alone.

Examples

How a few platforms describe themselves, as of October 2026:

  • Billo calls itself a system “for producing, testing, and scaling creator ads” (Billo).
  • Insense pitches an “All-In-One Solution for UGC + Influencer Marketing”, including TikTok Spark Ads and Meta partnership ads (Insense).
  • Sideshift lets brands set a base fee and an optional view bonus, and says nothing is paid until the brand approves the work. It reports a median of $7 to $9 a video over the last 90 days (Sideshift).
  • Whop Content Rewards pays per 1,000 views on videos creators post to their own accounts (Whop Docs).

Platform vs direct deals

  • Easier to start. Briefs come to you, and payment is handled.
  • More competition. Sideshift says its median job collects 284 applications in its first 48 hours (Sideshift). With that many applicants, you compete on price as well as quality.
  • Less control. The platform sets the rules on usage, revisions and payouts. Read them before you apply.

Why it matters for UGC creators

A platform is a practical way to get your first paid work and real samples. Once you have results and a rate card, direct deals and retainers let you set your own price. Some creators also work through a UGC agency, which sits between the two.
