Is Billo legit?
Yes. Billo is a real company (Billo.app, UAB, Lithuania, founded 2018) that pays creators for fixed-price UGC videos, and it reported $8.3M paid to creators by March 2025. It's free and needs no audience, but only creators in the US, Canada and UK can join. The catch is pay: task rates are fixed and can't be negotiated, and many reviews call them low, especially before Premium status.
The facts
- How you get work
- Record a 30-second video pitch. Once approved, apply to brand offers in the app (some with screening questions) or accept invitations; the brand picks. Billo says a first task takes about 30 applications on average.
- How you get paid
- A fixed payout per task, shown before you apply and not negotiable. Add-ons (organic posting, Partnership or Spark Ads, photos, extra footage) pay extra, and Premium status unlocks higher-paying offers.
- Published pay
- Billo says the average creator earns about $500 a month; its top three creators' public totals work out to roughly $52 to $71 per video. Trustpilot reviews cite a $40 base payout (May 2026) and $70 to $90+ for Premium creators (late 2025).
- Creator fees
- None stated: the app is free with no membership, and Billo says its fee is built into the brand's price. If you're removed from a task after receiving the product, its cost comes out of your next payout.
- Payout method
- US, Canada and UK creators are paid by Stripe to a bank account, replacing PayPal (help center, Oct 2026). Some older Billo pages still mention PayPal.
- Payout timing
- Earnings count once the brand approves (auto-approval after 3 business days, 5 to 10 for larger brands). Money reaches your Stripe balance within 3 days, and Stripe pays out every Monday.
- Requirements
- 18+ and living in the US, Canada or UK; no experience or following needed. Your pitch is reviewed within 7 business days and ID may be requested. Upload within 5 days of getting the product; up to 2 reshoots, each due in 48 hours.
- Need followers?
- No
How Billo works for creators
Billo is a UGC video marketplace: brands order short-form video ads, and vetted creators apply to fixed-price tasks in the Billo Creator app. To join, you record a 30-second video pitch, which Billo reviews within 7 business days. Once approved, you apply to offers in the app, some with screening questions, and the brand picks who to hire. Billo says a first task takes about 30 applications on average and suggests applying to at least 10 a day. Each task shows a fixed payout before you apply, and add-ons such as organic posting, Partnership or Spark Ads, photos and extra footage pay extra. You upload within 5 days of receiving the product, brands can ask for up to 2 reshoots, and videos auto-approve after 3 business days if the brand doesn't act. After 14 approved videos with strong ratings you can reach Premium, which unlocks higher-paying offers. Billo's help center says the average creator earns about $500 a month, paid by Stripe to a bank account every Monday.
Best for: Creators in the US, UK or Canada with no audience who want a steady flow of fixed-price UGC tasks, including app and digital-service briefs, and accept rates they can't negotiate.
Good to know
- No audience or experience needed, and the app is free with no membership (Billo creator page).
- Pay is shown before you apply, and Billo covers Stripe transfer fees.
- Videos auto-approve after 3 business days if a brand doesn't respond (5 to 10 for larger brands).
- Premium status (14 approved videos, 4.8+ average rating, 90%+ on time) unlocks higher-paying offers.
- Many creator reviews on Trustpilot (2025-2026) praise responsive support and repeat work from returning brands.
Watch out for
- Rates are fixed and can't be negotiated, and many reviews from 2021 to 2026 call per-video pay low.
- Winning work takes volume: Billo says a first task takes about 30 applications on average.
- Only creators living in the US, Canada and UK can sign up.
- If you're removed from a task after receiving the product, its cost is deducted from your next payout.
- Billo's rules bar posting task videos on your personal socials or sending them off-platform.
